The Tupelo SPAFER RoadHouse was formed in November of 2008 and meets monthly on the first Saturday of each month at the Link Centre at 1800 West Main Street.  We begin gathering for coffee, conversation and donut holes at 9:30 AM and our program starts at 10 AM.  We use DVD’s of interesting speakers on the many facets of religious thought, plus videos that are posted on the Internet on a wide variety of topics.  Discussion of the material presented follows.  At noon we adjourn for lunch at some local restaurant.  Lunch is “Dutch Treat” and not a required part of the meeting, but provides an opportunity for further conversation and fellowship.  We usually have 24 give or take for the meeting and 12 to 16 who stay for lunch.  In addition we maintain a lending library of books that can be borrowed, read and returned.  To be place on the email list for information about all meetings, email Jim High at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Many people today feel that there is no place in organized religion for deep thought, doubt or questions that challenge the status quo with spiritual and religious inquiry. SPAFER in Oxford, MS, is dedicated to creating such a place.

Each month videos of well known authors and scholars in the area of religion and spirituality are shown with the opportunity of discussion following. During discussions all ideas and comments are welcomed and honored in a safe and respectful environment.

SPAFER in Oxford offers an invitation to go beyond religious dogma and pursue the questions that deepen our understanding as we make our way through a life-long spiritual journey.
